History

G.I.L.S. Worldwide can look back on an eventful history.

Year 1974

The company was established as Jacky Maeder Holland BV at that time member of the Swissair organization. During the period 1974 till 1993 the company offered their services mainly to their own European organization and was as well in specializing in projects.

October 1993

Change of management, the aim of the Jacky Maeder group was to establish a stronger network within the Netherlands. Investment was made in management, warehouses and the distribution network.

September 1997

The decision was made….after acquisition by the management during 1997, the official name changed into Grevenbroek International Logistic Solutions (G.I.L.S.) BV

April 1998

A new brand name G.I.L.S. Worldwide was launched... it was time to establish our reputation as a neutral NVOCC with new partnerships all over the world.

September 2001

G.I.L.S. Worldwide opens their own airfreight company at Schiphol Airport under the name Grevenbroek International Logistic Solutions (G.I.L.S.) Worldwide Airfreight B.V.

August 2002

G.I.L.S.Worldwide opens their own ocean freight company at Antwerp under the name Grevenbroek International Logistic Solutions (G.I.L.S.) Belgium bvba

January 2003

Implementation of one of the most sophisticated web-based software solutions.

September 2004

G.I.L.S. Worldwide opens their own ocean and airfreight company at Milan under the name GILS Worldwide Italy Srl.

September 2005

G.I.L.S. Worldwide Le Havre was opened to serve the French market. Le Havre will be focusing on import and export NVOCC having direct services supported by a web-based booking system.

December 2006

G.I.L.S. Worldwide opened their own bonded (private) container freight station. The warehouse is according to the latest standards completely racked with water connection. Total capacity 8000 sqm plus a separate hazardous cargo warehouse. The operations will be linked to a web-based information system.

April 2006

Introduction of G.I.L.S. Pilot Service a unique product for all bookings via internet with a track & trace system to monitor your shipments every where every place. Access 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

August 2006

G.I.L.S. Worldwide Rotterdam HQ moving to their new premises. A modern office with total 1200 sqm office space. Ideal located in the Rotterdam port area close to the highway.
